On May 8, 2026, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO, published DOW-UAP-PR038, a 1-minute, 46-second infrared recording submitted by U.S. Central Command. According to AARO, the footage was recorded in 2013 by an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform.

But even the government’s description leaves plenty of unanswered questions.

AARO does not describe a recognizable aircraft.

Instead, it refers to an “area of contrast resembling an eight-pointed star with arms of alternating length.”

That wording is important.

AARO is describing what appears on the sensor.

It is not necessarily saying that the physical object itself had eight actual spikes.

And that distinction could completely change how the footage should be interpreted.

🔍 THEN THE OBJECT STARTS MOVING

At approximately 10 seconds, the sensor narrows its field of view and zooms toward the strange area of contrast.

From roughly 11 to 29 seconds, the object moves across the sensor’s field of view.

A visible trail appears behind it.

Online, that trail has naturally generated speculation.

❓ WHAT WAS THE OBJECT’S ACTUAL SHAPE?

But infrared sensors do not necessarily show objects exactly as the human eye would see them.

Bright or high-contrast sources can produce complicated visual effects.
